Milestone of 4,5 MWh of batteries achieved with YUSO Certified Partner Octave!

Octave Energy battery

Good news for YUSO’s and Octave’s customers. Since the beginning of 2024, Octave has excelled in the efficient on-boarding of YUSO Certified batteries!

So also confirms Louise Van Isterdael, Business Development Manager at Octave. “Our most recent project has passed the 1.7 MW mark.”

Meanwhile, Octave has already brought over 1.7 MW of batteries with YUSO Flex control online to 10 different customers, accounting for an energy content of over 4.5 MWh.

The YUSO – Octave partnership

Thanks to the YUSO Certified Controller, every Octave battery can be used for imbalance control immediately after commissioning. By default, the Octave control ensures safe operation within the limits of the battery. YUSO takes control of the battery when an opportunity is identified in the imbalance market: the battery is charged at low imbalance rates and discharged at high imbalance rates. Octave’s high-performance BMS allows the battery to closely monitor YUSO’s steering.

A low energy bill

In addition, YUSO ensures that the battery is always charged correctly to capture all opportunities in the imbalance market. YUSO has unique expertise in predicting these rates, allowing the control to generate considerable revenue for the customer. The energy bill at YUSO even becomes a negative cost, with the customer receiving money for his energy consumption. All this ensures a very quick payback for the battery. The customer can monitor the performance of the battery nicely through the YUSO portal.

Unity in sustainability

The collaboration between YUSO & Octave is strengthened by the fact that both companies share a sustainable vision. The Octave battery systems, produced in Belgium, have a circular character thanks to the reuse of quality battery modules from electric cars. These battery modules are not only automotive grade but are also a lot greener than many other brands in the market due to the local value chain. This fits in nicely with YUSO’s objectives to support maximum renewable energy in the electricity grid.
